My Stuff in her house---how cool!
When my mom and I started thinking about making stuff and selling it on Etsy, it was because we were feeling guilty because we have large stashes of wool and fabric! And, although there is nothing wrong with that, right? We decided that making stuff would be fun...yet liberating. Well, we are having fun and we have only scratched the surface of our stashes. But, one thing I hadn't really thought about was how it would feel to see our stuff in someone else's house. So, when I received the e-mail from our first customer with these photos and story, I smiled with delight. How cool...someone thought our stuff was cool enough to put in their house.
Kathie Holland, a quiltmaker and designer, enjoys yo-yos, but doesn't like making them so much. When she visited our Etsy site and saw this little yo-yo mat, she knew she had to have it. Kathie was sure her friend Judy Roche would like the piece, knowing the connections between me, my grandmother, and my former job at American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. Judy loves to know all about the quilt pieces in her collection, as she is an avid quiltmaker and know designs reproduction fabrics for Henry Glass. Are you with me on all of this?? Well, look at how Judy is showcasing the yo-yo piece in her home. I'm truly delighted that she is enjoying the piece. I love her pottery!

The yo-yo piece is adorable! I had a look at your Etsy site and the prices are so reasonable - I ought to do my Christmas shopping there!
I think it's really neat that you got to see where something you made now 'lives'!

Thanks Joanna--We're doing a local craft show this Saturday, so we haven't put up new stuff on Etsy for a while. After Saturday, I'll be posting new stuff!

I'm so thrilled to see many bloggers promoting ETSY. I'm a new ETSY seller. I'm a quilter and needed an outlet for the many quilts I've made and have no homes for. I checked out your shop. Nice. If you're interested in looking, I'm
