Surprise!
Keeping secrets can be fun...especially when it is to celebrate a woman that has made such a difference to so many people in the quilting industry. Lynette Jensen started her Thimbleberries business 20 years ago and tonight some of her close friends held an intimate dinner to kick-off her 2008 anniversary year.
I felt so honored to be included. I've always admired Lynette's creativity and thoughtfulness. During my years at American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, I worked with Lynette on some wonderful projects and stories. I treasure our friendship and have always appreciated her guidance and support. Congrats Lynette on 20 years!!

The decorations and the party favors were so Thimbleberries! The center pieces were pumpkins filled with fresh flowers.

The place card/party favors were a fabric envelope made from her newest line of fabric from RJR Fabrics--Lodge and Lakeside Collection. (I'm sure her friend Jean at Main Street Cotton Shop would have fabric bundles available.) And, of course a box of chocolate was tucked inside. I think I'll save that for tomorrow, because I'm still stuffed from the wonderful pecan-crusted chicken served atop a bed of sweet potatoes and asparagus. (I stopped myself from licking the plate!)

So, I would say that Day 1 at Quilt Market has gotten off to a great start. I can't wait to see so many good friends tomorrow at the show.

Now I remember why I did not want to miss Market in Houston. I simply hope that they keep some of the fun for Portland this Spring. Imagine, a box of chocolates for stopping by! Hope they were as good as they looked Heidi!
