It's snowing!
I know it's winter and all, but I don't remember the forecast saying snow today. We spent the better part of our day at church for the annual meeting and potluck (so much good food---maybe I should share Auntie's bean recipe I took, although I'm sure every person that likes potlucks has it!) Two kids are sleeping and one is crawling around on the floor, so I've been using my laptop on the kitchen counter to catch up on blogs. It's been a wonderful afternoon. Well anyway, I turned around and looked out the window to see snow! Lots of snow. Pretty of course. I immediately wondered if Jeff was back to the farm yet. He hauled cattle to the sale barn this afternoon and I don't like worrying about him on bad roads. He has since called and assured me he was ok and almost home. So, then my mind started wandering to the fun things about snow. Snowmen. Hot cocoa. Fires in the fireplace. In the old house I grew up in we had a library room that was closed off with glass French doors. In this room was our fireplace. On a snowy day it was the best place in the house to be.
I like decorating with snowmen because I can leave them out longer than most Christmas decorations. I even put blue-and-white "snow like" quilts out for display. We have two ledges above the front doors. This is one. And, the other is the next photo. (I change the quilts every 3-4 months.)

And, then are my snowmen...My friend Jennifer stitched this pillow for me...I love the combination of snowmen and chicken...there are three more seasons for me to stitch.

And Mr. and Mrs. Santa from a company called Wolf Creek...a fun plan just 8 miles up the road in Eldora.

And, last but not least the Snowman cookie jar. On the bottom is says "BBP 1996". I'll have to ask my mom where it came from (I know we bought it at my aunt's gift shop). I thought it was Rowe Pottery, but apparently not.

Let it Snow!

Chickens and snowmen? Too funny! It is snowing here too and I am so glad I don't have to drive the 17 miles to work at 5 am because I took the day off to SEW!
