Now where was I?

Time passes and projects get set aside to make way for other projects. Well, yesterday, I got a generous offer from a friend to quilt a project for me. And, although I now have easy access to long-arm quilting, her offer looks very tempting. So, as I was lying awake in bed this morning (about 1 a.m.) holding Goldie I was thinking about it. (Those teeth sure can hurt coming in.) Should I start a new project that she could quilt...or is there something I have in progress that I could finish and send to her?? Finally it dawned on me...I have the perfect project.

I started this project in 2003...got a lot done at a quilt retreat in January 2004...then seemed to put it aside for a while. (Do you think having Henry in April 2004 had anything to do with that?) Probably about a year ago, I pulled it out and finished the blocks. There are 12 blocks in total. This pattern is from American Patchwork & Quilting magazine and was designed by Alice Berg. Her original quilt was just red and gold, but I liked adding the bright green.

Then I had to think about why this pile of strips was in the box. Hmm?

I'll have to get out the calculator tonight, but I think if I just sewed the blocks together, the finished quilt would not be big enough for our bed. I'll keep you posted.
