Could it be my girls?
After taking down the Christmas decorations down from the mantel, I just wasn't quite ready to put back the hunting picture and pheasant that normally sit there. But, what to put up there? It remained blank for several days when it dawned on me that my mom had brought me a great picture frame...that at one time held a family photo. Well, anyway, I was thinking there was a snowman picture in the frame. So, to the train room (i.e. storage room) I went...sure enough a snowman...and two girls.
What is the stick for? Could the girls in the picture be Goldie and Virginia?
Do you think this sweet girl is going to throw the snowball?
Now I just have to figure out what to put on the mantel with the picture. Any suggestions?

I think I would make a winter scene with bottle brush trees (Dollar General had some inexpensive ones last week), little snowmen, etc. Cute picture, I love the vintage ones!

Do you have a basket you can fill with ivy, something like what the snowman is holding? And bare twigs.

Two litte girls --Perfect picture! Yes, I second the idea of the ivy basket and twigs. Maybe some chunky snow white candles. Maybe drape a winter scarf around/under the arrangement. Dangle a pair of mittens. Love the picture.

I love that picture! I like the bare twigs idea for decoration. And maybe include some branches of holly.

I vote for the bare twigs and some branches of holly to bring out the red.Then,for the THIRD item maybe a small fun plate that plays into the theme and/or colors. Fun, can't wait to see what you do!

Heidi: The photo is absolutely lovely. It is a wonderful piece! I would probably go with some small votives plus a few strands of the new beading/decor, you can find them at Michael's pretty inexpensively. Maybe in a neutral tone? Anything you do will be fabulous. I believe that in the photo, the girls have covered Henry with snow and he is actually the snow-man! Or is that Jeff? Ha!
