A Great Base
I've started to pull together fabrics for the applique foundations and triangle-square borders of the Funny Farm quilt. I love selecting fabrics. I pulled out lots more fabric than what you're seeing here...but some blacks were too grey, some too green, some to light. Some golds were too yellow, too brown, too bright. This is what I've ended up with so far. What do you think?
Tomorrow, Henry and I are spending the day together and we'll be making a stop at the Quilting Connection (I've got $20 free to spend!). I wanted to make sure I had enough fabrics to work with. Next, the cutting....

The fabrics do look great! It's so much fun to go through a stash for just the right colors. I'm having fun with that myself now that we're back home. We don't have snow anymore, but only have almost-spring. You know when it's looks so beautiful outside that you walk out the door without your coat or gloves and have to come right back in....but spring will come soon for both of us!!

Wow! The fabrics look awesome - you have a wonderful stash of blacks. My own stash on blacks is very slim - almost not even there! I'll have to get busy boosting the economy and go on a black fabric buying spree!

I love black...and I love so many fabrics. So, even if a pattern calls for two colors...I have to have lots of each color!

I am glad to see you are using the "Comet" colors in the quilt-you can use it for warmth during a football game in the future! Have a good day. Hope the snow stops soon, I am sick of it, but getting lots of hand quilting done in the evening. I am just glad I have electricity, and not using an oil lamp like my Grandmothers did!

You know...it's going to be very hard to wear Comet colors when I'm a Cyclone! I'll just remind myself it's for the kids!!
