Mom and Me Day
Happy Valentine's Day to All!
I know the day is almost over...but it has been a grand day and I must share. I took a day of vacation today to spend it with Henry. It was my day to visit pre-school.
So instead of leaving at our usual 7:20 a.m. we stayed home a little longer as we were meeting our babysitter at school. She would take the girls home with her, while I went to school with Henry. As we were driving to school, Henry wondered how we would get to school. (He's always been very curious about direction.) So I proceeded to tell him we'd go through Bangor, past Marcia and Kent's house, turn South at the purple house, then into Clemons. "Can we go past Larsen's?" That is our babysitter. No, I tried to explain why we wouldn't be doing that. "How will we know where to go?" I assured him I knew how to get to his school. Since we were a few minutes early, we chatted about what we might be doing at school today...maybe a Valentine's Party? As other cars pulled up and kids got out he told me who they were...or if he didn't know them. He questioned again what I was doing with the girls. I explained. He announced he would miss them. Yes, we would. But we were going to have fun.
I could go on and on about the details of today...school, of course, then a trip to Ames. Eating lunch at McDonald's, shopping at Target and skipping through the parking lot, a trip to the jewelry store (I'm wearing my wedding ring for the first time in several years!), and a trip to the quilt shop. Then on to home on snow-covered, wind blown roads, pick up the girls, unload all of the groceries, feed the girls, a bath with all three kids (oh how fun it is too splash), supper, and our milk and cookies. Oh, wait, he fell asleep before that! A tired boy.
So, a few photos to share...
