I've been tagged!

I've been tagged! What does that mean?
LisaMarie'sMom tagged me this week and here are the rules that I found on her site:

1. When tagged, place the name of the person and URL on your blog.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write 7 things about yourself.
4. Name 7 of your favorite webblogs.
5. Send e-mail letting those bloggers know they have been tagged.

Here goes:
1. Iris are my favorite flower. I love the old irises, although the Japenese iris are pretty, the old ones are my favorite. My Grandma Moore had so many beautiful colors in her garden and she would share them my mother. And, my mother has shared them with me. I can't wait for spring because we're in a new house and we'll be doing our landscape this spring and I'll get new "old" irises from my mom, who now lives in Grandma's house. One not well know fact about me...when I was in 4-H and in high school I took a picture of an iris and not only was it selected to go to the Iowa State Fair, but was chosen to be in a traveling exhibit that year. It hangs in our bathroom with several other iris items I have collected.

2. John Deere tractors are a big part of the Kaisand family. My husband loves antique tractors and we have a few in the barn. Every June we participate in the WHO Radio Great Iowa Tractor Ride. It is so fun driving at 12 miles an hour for three days across the beautiful state of Iowa! Henry's favorite color is green. Do you think we've brain washed him. Do you know who makes a better plow? John Deere. If you want to talk tractors, let me know and maybe I'll start the Heidi Kaisand Tractor blog.

3. Despite all of the places I've traveled I love to come home to our house in the country. We built our dream home in the country with a 5-acre pond in our back yard. I live 80 miles from Des Moines, so when I have to go to the office it takes about an hour and 15 minutes. I love the peace and quiet of the country.

4. Some of you may be addicted to coffee, but my day is not complete without Diet Pepsi. And, yes, I'm particular about the brand. Even on our wedding day a friend knew I would need a can and brought me one with a straw. It was delightful! The wedding was too. And, I don't drink it by the gallon...one after 8 a.m. (orange juice first); one after lunch (I try to drink water in between); and one later in the afternoon. Then I switch to water or milk, and sometimes a nice glass of wine.

5. Mother of three kids including identical twin girls. My husband and I got married in 1991 after only dating 11 months. There was lots of "are you expecting?". But we weren't. And, in fact, we were both quite focused on his school and my career. And, besides we were too young to be parents. Heck we went to Disney World for our honeymoon because we're just big kids. As the years went by we were busy...working. I think our friends gave up on us having kids. Well finally I got to that point where the clock was moving along and I said "are we going to have kids?" We decided to take the "let's see what happens approach." Henry was born April 22, 2004. One kid, good and healthy. We couldn't have asked for more. Do we want more? Let's take the "let's see what happens" approach. Fast forward to a day in September 2006 when we're in the doctor's office for an early ultrasound and the tech says, "Congratulations, you're having twins." What? Did she just say twins? What? That's a whole nother story for a different blog. But, Goldie and Virginia were born April 10, 2007. Healthy and strong.

6. Favorite color is red. We may drive green tractors, but I love red. Red towels, red walls, red coat, red quilts, red clothes, red jewelry. My birthstone is ruby!

7. Love chickens and roosters. I love lots of animals, but there is something about chickens and roosters that I really like. Maybe because I like to get up early in the morning. Anyway, I consider myself a mother hen and I have three little chicks that are the center of my world.

As for the seven blogs I'll tag...watch out RoseannLeah, Pat, Deb, Renee, Cindy, and Tracey, I'll be e-mailing you next! Can't wait to read more about each of you.
