Take the Challenge

Can I do it? Can I do something for 21 days and start a new habit...or improve a habit? My friend Roseann sent me a link to Two Peas and a Pod and thought it would be fun. So, after much thought about what habit I wanted to create, I decided that I need to improve on my walking. It sounds so simple to say...I just need to walk 10 minutes a day to feel better and loose a few pounds. It can't be that hard, right? I am awake for 16 to 17 hours every day. Surely I can find 10 minutes to walk. I'm going to document my 21-day attempt to improve this habit and we'll see what happens!

Day 1--March 1, 2008
For the first time in weeks, the temperature is nearly 40 degrees in Iowa. The massive amounts of snow are starting to melt. My 10 minutes of walking, turned into 10+ minutes of shoveling the driveway. I bundled up the girls and Henry. Henry was excited for the outdoor adventure. He loves playing outside no matter what the weather is. I, of course, was a little more concerned about the girls, as they aren't moving around and could get cold.

I kept them in the garage out of the wind.

Henry on the other hand was dressed for the elements and ready to go anywhere on his tractor.

So while he drove around, I tried to scrap a little snow and ice off the drive way. Then he decided to start climbing the hill to the west of our driveway. You can see that I didn't quite get the snow off the driveway...it's just too thick.

And, just to make sure the girls are on board for this walking challenge, I thought they needed new sneakers. Target has the best stuff!
