Day 8-

Day 8-March 8
Well if this picture doesn't say it all.

After our swim in the pool and a good nap, we headed out to
The Country Loft quilt shop. No vacation is complete without a fabric fix. And, would you believe it was shop hop week! So, Henry got a cookie and sat on the back step, while I shopped with Goldie. Another vet's wife Trudie came along for the fun and she had Virginia. This shop is just delightful. If I lived closer I would be in here all of the time. Just my style. There was this wonderful wool crazy quilt that I was in love with. They currently are teaching it as a class, but will offer the pattern soon! I told them I wanted to be on the list for purchasing a copy. And I can't stop thinking about the bird feeders in the back yard. So cute and would be perfect in our front yard. Maybe when spring arrives in Iowa I'll call and see how much it would cost to ship them! I use to carry that kind of stuff home on the airplane, but these days they don't like it.

Then we went on their recommendation to Quilting Connection...another nice store with lots of brights and a mother of twin boys working there! And Henry got another cookie. He was making out good.

Day 9-March 9
We're off to the San Diego Zoo. Lots of walking ahead.

AAAAA ... I love the Country Loft!!! How come I'm not with you??? This has been fun being on vacation with you ... except the part about running through the airport pushing strollers. Nope ... don't miss that one bit. And I think the birdhouse will look perfect in your yard ... you know I like anything you like. Enjoy the rest of your trip ... the pics of the kids are very fun to see!

It was a great quilt shop. I actually thought about going back today, but thought it might be good for the girls to get naps. Goldie slept 2 hours and 20 minutes and Virginia has almost hit the 3 hour mark and is still sleeping. She must be pretty tired but Henry keeps trying to wake her up, as he would like to go swimming.

We walked and walked at the Zoo. Henry says his favorite animal at the zoo was the tiger. Gotta run...Virginia is awake so that means a second trip to the pool today. Oh, the nice sunny California weather.
