Help! Where did I go wrong?

Day 20-March 20
It's Wednesday morning and I haven't walked since Saturday. Where did I go wrong? Why am I not walking? Why do I have or make excuses? How do I get beyond those excuses? Last night when I finally sat down a little after 9 p.m. I could hardly keep my eyes open I was so tired. And, it's not like I don't keep busy during the day. I'm always walking briskly between places. But that doesn't count, right. It's not consistent, steady exercise...getting my heart beat going. Why is it I get to this point and I can't make sure that 10 minutes every day is devoted to walking. 10 minutes, that's all. I'm usually up by 5 a.m. and go to bed between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. HELP! Tell me how you do it. What is the push I need to get me over the edge?

I'm trying to start my day thinking about when I'm going to get my 10 minutes of walking in. Plan it now! Could I walk away from my desk at noon for 10 minutes? Sure I can. Yes, I will. That's what I have to do.

I find that I do best when I get up a little early to fit in my exercise. It's tough getting out of bed before I really need to, but the benefits are so worth it for me.

Heidi, you're allowed to "slip" now and again. The important thing is to not let the "no time today" days become the norm. I find that even a minimal amount of exercise (a couple sets of pushups before bed, 5 minutes on the treadmill) on the days I miss my workouts, which happens weekly, keeps me feeling like I'm moving forward, or at least not falling back. Keep it up! You can do it!

Yes, you can do it. I have been following your progress and you have inspired me to get out and walk some too! You go girl - you are doing great, don't let up now! Just remember that feeling of satisfaction when you finish the walk.
