It's Your Day, Mom!

It's not Mother's Day today, but it could just as well be! It's my mom's birthday. Happy Birthday Mom! We hope you have a great day. For those of you who don't know my mom, she's the best--I could tell you all the wonderful things she does for us, but the list would be very long. And, we're having so much fun working on the quilting retreat I'm hosting in July. She's going to be the cook! I already wonder if my relationship with my kids will be as good as my relationship is with my parents. I hope so.

But, I've gotta ask...why the big bandages on your knees in this picture?

Left to right, sisters Marilyn, Judy (in front), and Sheri (my mom).

Hedi, I just love the picture of your Mom and sisters. I have so many pictures of my sister and I like that. It brought back memories. Your Mom still looks the same in the face. I loved the pictures of Virginia in the picnic basket. You are going to have so much fun with those kids.

First I have to correct who is in the picture. When I posted the picture, I didn't think the little girl looked a lot like Aunt Judy and guess what, it's not! It's their cousin Betty. This is why we need to document these things!

So the bandages...a Sunday school get together was held at my Grandma Moore's house. Mom was running and fell and scraped her knee on the gravel. She doesn't remember exactly why, but Grandma took her to the doctor. It must have been a fairly deep scrap and needed to get cleaned out. The doctor put tape over the scrap and Mom ended up reactly to the tape. So, now a bad situation got worse. Infection settled in and it was not good. Mom says she can still point out one scar on her knee from the infection.
