The First Birthday
April 10, 2007, was a wonderful day in the Kaisand house as we welcomed Goldie Maurine and Virginia Rose into our lives. Where has this past year gone? The girls turned one today and are the most precious little ones. I can say that because I'm their mother, but they really are. They eat good, they sleep good, they play good, they are happy, they are healthy, they are sweet, they are funny, they climb, they crawl, they almost walk, they make my heart swell with happiness. I'll share with you a few moments of our birthday party this evening.
Virginia on the left, carefully touched the center of her cake, while Goldie on the right dug right in! (The cake design was inspired by the latest issue of Country Living magazine. I had a friend's sister make the cakes.)
There were presents to open. Quilts from Grandma Kaisand. Twin Bitty Babies from Grandpa and Grandma McNutt. And, fun toys and gifts from various friends and family.
And, there were special guests. This is Henry with Lloyd (we all call him Doc because he's a retired veterinarian. And, his wife Jo. (Virginia's middle name comes from Jo's given name Rosa.)
We have so much to be thankful for.

I was thinking about you and your family all day yesterday-mostly about how bad the weather was, but it didn't seem to dampen the party at all-what great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Look how they've changed from the photo up on the left with Henry! And I still remember holding them when they were two weeks old. Amazing to me that they're shoving birthday cake in their mouths now! Congratulations on a wonderful first year with them. Everything you wished for came true.
