He's 4 years old!
Henry Jack turned 4 years old on Tuesday! He's my favorite little boy in the whole wide world.

We decided this year to have a party with kids. When I asked him what he wanted to do for his party he said play in the park. Sounded great to me! So we have been planning this little get together for a few weeks...pizza from the local pizza place, some pop, and cupcakes for dessert. We invited a few of his friends and then I crossed my fingers for good weather. April can be so up and down!
We woke up at 4 a.m. to strong winds, hail, and lightening and thunder that felt like it was on top of us. Henry came running upstairs, Viriginia was already there (getting teeth), and Goldie never awoke from her deep slumber. The first thing Henry said was "is it going to rain for my party?" I told him that was several hours away and we wouldn't know for sure until later. But, of course, all I could think of was "12 kids in our house is going to be chaotic." I took Henry to pre-school and the girls to day care and got to work myself. The rain stopped, but it was cool. But with each passing hour, the clouds began to disappear and the temperature kept going up. I picked Henry up from daycare and we went to Marshalltown for lunch at Micky D's, a run through the car wash, and some grocery shopping. By 4:30 p.m. when Henry and I headed to the park because he couldn't wait any longer, it was actually quite a lovely afternoon.
His guests started arriving about 5:15 p.m. and the running and playing was well underway.
There was digging. I overheard Hannah tell Henry and the other boy trying to help her "I don't need help." You go girl!

One of the mothers brought bubble blowing supplies! Great idea. Noella was having lots of fun in the bubble solution.

There was a little resting on the bench...but not much!

Once we got done at the park and chatted with Doc and Jo for a minute (they live on the same block as the park). We headed home to have cake with Dad. Of course, the theme of the cake was John Deere Tractors. Denise made the cakes and does such an awesome job decorating them!

Many, many more happy birthdays Henry. I love you!

What a sweet boy your son is. It makes me want to go back to when I had a sweet little boy living here every day. YOU are making memories Heidi, write them down because they will become more precious as time goes by. I am thankful to have a sweet Grandson who comes and spends the weekend with me once in awhile. Your little boy has a charming smile. I loved reading this post. Thanks so much.
