Quilting Friends
The isles were bustling at Quilt Market yesterday with quilt show owners looking for the next best thing to sell to us and with vendors showing their wares. I always feel like it's a big family reunion--getting to see all of your friends. And, there's always a chance to get to make a few new friends, too. Toward the end of the day I met Arlene. Her daughter owns a quilt shop and she works with her and supports her in running the shop. Arlene and I were chatting a little while her daughter looked at the APQS machines. Well, the more she and I chatted the more I realized that she would be the perfect person to use George. When I suggested this, she quickly responded that she couldn't bring another man into the house...then errupted with laughter. For the next 30 minutes she sat at George thinking of how she could take him home. But, even more fun we chatted like mother-daughter about quilting, children, and life. She was a sweetheart.
Throughout the weekend designer Pat Sloan has been working in the APQS booth on George. People are always curious about him! And, of course Pat is sharing her knowledge about machine quilting with them.

And, I met Cindee Ferris, a former APQS sales rep from California. What a fun person! We had fun chatting about how the company has changed and grown since she left and blogging. She explained that she had set up a blog some time ago, but just wasn't keeping current with entries. So, I think she's been inspired to re-join the blogging world. Visit and encourage her to join the fun. Here we are from left to right, Cindee, myself, and Linda Alexander. I'm going to encourage her to re-join APQS too...she would be a great addition to our sales team.

Throughout the weekend it's been fun reminiscing with friends about past markets and visits I made to see them. I'm amazed by all of the creative things people are doing and the hard work that shop owners put into their stores to inspire us.
I'm coming home with a tee-pee pattern to make for Henry, lady bug bags for Goldie and Virginia, yards of ric-rac to trim something, bundles of fat-quarters that I could just look at and never sew, and a new set of memories of my quilting friends.
