A Week of Fun

When our regular childcare provider recently took vacation, I asked our former backdoor neighbor in Melbourne to help out. Becky is in the education field, so she has time off in the summer. Luckily for us, she was available for the entire week. She has two kids--Nicole, who will be in 5th grade, and Jared, who will be in 8th grade, this fall.

They decided to make the 30-minute trek to our house everyday, which was a huge treat to me! I didn't have to put the kids in car seats for days! Since I have flexibility with my job, I decided to work the majority of the week at home so that Becky and the kids could arrive at 8:30 a.m. I wondered how this would go with Henry. Would he come to my home office since he knew I was there? Surprisingly, he only came a couple of times...usually in tears needing a little Mom hug...once to let me know the Schwan's man was in our drive way. And, I was surprised each day when I came "home" by the treasures I would find downstairs. Sometimes it was obvious they had been painting.

The next van Gogh...

Although I have some craft supplies, Becky was so good to bring along some of her favorites. There was macaroni art, beading, and my favorite--Flat Henry!

Everyone had a great time...and slept good each night!

Cool dude? (Virginia and Nicole)
