Happy 1st Blog Anniversary
Todays marks my 123 blog entry and a 1 year-anniversary mark. The last year has been amazing for me. As of this morning, there have been 142,472 hits on my blog. Thanks to my many friends and family for visiting me so often! There are seven blogs that rank at the top for bringing you to my blog. They are:
Bunny Hill
Pam Kitty Morning
Rosebuds Cottage
Sisters Choice
The Happy Zombie
Pat Sloan
Pincushion Diaries
I'm going to be sending a little thank you to them for helping make my first year a success. I also want to give each of you an opportunity to get a little package in the mail. For my retreat in July I made a Hen and Chicks tablerunner and gave the instructions and a fabric kit for re-creating it. I am going to make 2 kits similar to the photo below. (I know I ran out of that particular green, so I will substitute a similar green print.) All you have to do is comment to this post between now and September 4 and you'll be thrown into the hat. I'll announce the winners on September 5 on my blog and by e-mailing the winners.

Now I want to think back over the last year about all of the things that have happened. Here are a just a few highlights:
* Our twin girls, Goldie and Virginia, have gone from babies to toddlers. Teeth, hair, walking, talking. Every minute has been grand. (If you read my blog at all, you'll know that the kids are at top of my blogging content.)
* Our son, Henry, attended his first year of pre-school and is ready to hit the ground running on year two. We've gone from not potty trained to potty trained. Doesn't that make a difference. He also attended his first swimming lessons this summer and loved it!
* I made a major job change and can now tell you all the reasons why you should buy an APQS long-arm quilting machine. (Call me, we'll chat.)
* I've been given a life that is challenging, exhausting, exhilarating, rewarding, and creative. And, I now have the flexibility to allow me to enjoy every minute.
* My first quilt retreat was held in July and was a success! I'm already looking forward to the next retreat in November. Let me know if you want to learn more about it.
* Dear friend Maureen and I have successfully created a proposal for a fabric collection that was accepted by a fabric manufacturer and should be in quilt shops in summer 2009. My next year is going to be busy designing projects to show off the fabric!
* My first on-line video class appeared on allpeoplequilt.com.
* My new addiction is Creative Memories StoryBook Creator Plus and Memory Manager. I'm converting my blog into a StoryBook so that I can print hard copies for my children to have.
* I turned 40 this year.
I'm looking so forward to the next year and all of the exciting things that I know are ahead and all of the unexpected things that are sure to happen.

Congrats on your first year! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog and hope you continue for many more years! I have really enjoyed seeing your children grow and your life on the farm. Every time I see anything with John Deer on it I think of you! Especially in Cracker Barrel - they seem to have a whole John Deer section! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for a great year of reading

Heidi, I enjoy reading your blog and congrats on your first year of blogging. I have twin boys who will turn 13 this Saturday. Seems like yesterday, they were toddlers! Seems like today their behavior is reverting to that of toddlers!

Congratulations on your first year. It is interesting to see your projects. I also enjoy pictures and news of your family. I am Jana Larsen's mother-inn-law. I had the privileged of staying with the girls and Henry while Jana had a dental apt. on Wed. am. Such fun to see the girls walking, smiling, etc. Course I sort of knew Henry before from being Seth's friend and preschool.
Hope your next year goes as well. Will be anxious to learn about your fabric designs. JoAnn Larsen

Heidi...I was thrilled when I found your website and learned what you had been up to. I didn't link from anywhere...just noticed that you were no longer editing my favorite quilting magazine. I had to Google you to find out where you went. I'm so happy to have connected. Your blog makes me smile, and your energy is inspiring. I so look forward to year two!
