Give Me Self-Control
When I go to Target for my 10% off days, I normally don't take the kids with me. But, the girls were in need of new shoes and it would be easier to have them along. After church yesterday, the kids and I headed to Ames to do our shopping. Knowing it would be a crazy and fast trip, I had my list and was prepared for anything!
The shoe department was our first stop. Have you been in a Target shoe department lately? Oh, my gosh. Cute spring shoes everywhere. The red sandels, and the pink-and-white patten shoes, glitter this, and glitter that. I could hardly control myself. I measured Goldie's foot on the scale and she measured an 8. Another "oh my gosh". These girls are going to be tall! Keeping the cart in the middle of the isle was critical to keeping extra shoes from entering the cart. I started picking up shoes and trying them on Goldie. She was in the front of the cart so was easier to "fit". At one point, I thought "have some self-control, Heidi." They are growing so fast they are going to be out of these shoes before I blink. Ok, think practical. What can they wear right now when they aren't wearing their boots? Yep, pink glittering tennis shoes. That will work.

Thinking ahead to our trip in March when we'll need spring shoes and as their feet continue to grow. I tried some darling plaid slipons on, but not easy to get on. Forget those. Look for elastic closures. No Henry we don't need those. Virginia sit down sweetie. They have two of these in their size. Yes, I like these.

What about a sandel? The red ones seem so hard, like they won't bend when they run...and they will run. And, oh, their little toes could get caught on things. Hey, these have a closed toe. Love them. What a cute closure.

Let's keep rolling gang. Oh, wait, we can't skip the Miss Kitty boots. Every girl needs to splash around in spring puddles in these.

And, how lucky were we to find Strawberry Shortcake flipflops in the dollar bin. The lady in the check-out lane was watching Virginia try to put them on with her socks. Glad we can make other people's day, too!

I think you should send this to Target, Heidi! I'm serious! This has the makings of a great commercial. Or, at the very least, they should give you a gynormous gift card for all of the "real life" advertising you give them. Love the boots!

Who needs self control when there are so many cute shoes and kids grow so fast. You'll love seeing them wear the shoes and they will have fun, too. Now what really made me smile here is realizing how much my daughter would have loved those pink Hello Kitty boots......she's 38 and still loves Hello Kitty!!
