Thanks for letting me be a guest blogger!

I was lucky enough to be accepted as a guest blogger today on Quilting Gallery. Be sure to check out all of the wonderful links to other blogs and quilt shops.
I'm offering fabric from my stash as a prize for commenting on either the Quilting Gallery post or this post. Entries due by February 28. Three winners will be selected on March 1 and announced here.

I didn't know about that website. Thanks for sharing! And I'd be thrilled to win some fabric!

Hi Heidi:
I agree about quilts being personal and not having a desire to enter them in quilt shows/contests. While I strive for the best, I am not perfect, and neither are my quilts. Most of the quilts I make, I give away to family members (7 nieces and 1 nephew) and I put love into every stitch and hopefully, they realize that also! I enjoy your blog very much. carolann427@aol.com

Thank you, Heidi, for an interesting post. Though you are a "professional" in the quilting world, I like your comments and attitude about quilting still being personal. I have always loved giving hand-made gifts, and now that includes quilts.

I first found your Quilts and More magazine, then progressed onto American Patchwork and Quilting maggie...this was way before I ever decided I could quilt. Thanks to some great beginner classes from Anna Lena's I too became a quilter. Don't you just love it?? I do! Thanks for all the great projects that you selected to allow me to think I too could do it!

Hi Heidi~ I read your guest article and it was fabulous. I agree quilting is personal, the colors, designs, fabrics otherwise everyone's quilts would all look the same. I am one of those customers who still get very excited about receiving AP&Q mag in the mail. I wish you well on your new adventure with APQS. I enjoyed your web-site & blog very much. Kim
PS. I love wool too ~ stop by waterpail designs I might have a few wool colors you like!!

Hi Heidi,I read and enjoyed your blog on Quilting Gallery. Thanks for the photos and links. I checked out a few things on your blog too. It's a nice way to relax - reading blogs. I showed my husband a picture of your stash and he was releived that mine has not quite as large. Of course if I won some of your fabric, mine would grow!

For years I've enjoyed reading the magazines that you worked with on your job; Quilt Sampler by far is my favorite and I have every issue but one and treasure them. I enjoyed reading the quilting gallery guest blogger article. Please add my name to your drawing. Connie W "Cootie Bug 2"

I met you in Paducah the year you started as the editor, we stayed at the same bed and breakfast that yr. I owned the quilt shop Quilter's Attic in Goodlettsville, Tn. at that time. I've enjoyed the magazine through the years. Enjoy reading the blog. Jenny

Hi Heidi! I'm just here for the free fabric! But seriously, I enjoyed your post as a guest blogger. My grandmothers were both quilters, but would you believe I taught my mom to quilt? I went to a quilting retreat where I was sewing little Christmas dresses for my 6 month old daughter and I thought quilting was too difficult! But the teacher taught me to make an attic windows quilt and I was hooked! I invited mom to the next retreat and helped her to make her first quilt... now I send her all my scraps and she makes quilts that she donates to the Mennonite Central Committee auctions to sell for charity.

I am new to blogging and am glad to find your site, hearing about the farm and the kids, esp. shoe shopping at Target. What a picture that was. A girl can never have too many shoes. My kids are grown and gone, but my quilting friends, projects and work fill the void. I usually can find my shoes as they are not being borrowed any more. I am looking forward to going to a Quilt show and tea with entertainment this afternoon as a Dollars for Scholars fund-raiser for the school my daughter teaches at. She submitted a quilt I made her- A pink and white Evening Star pattern by Debbie Maddy. Always inspiring to look at the work of other quilters and hear about their projects. Thanks for including me in the drawing. Have a good day. SE
