Happy Girls

We are quickly approaching the 2-year birthday of Goldie and Virginia. It hardly seems possible. When they were little, I took a picture to show people how big they were in comparison to me. Over the past two years I've tried to re-take a similar shot to see how much they are growing. I had my mom snap a shot last Saturday of the girls and me.

This was about 8 weeks old.

This was at the McNutt family reunion in May 2008.

Looking at the picture below, Goldie is on the left with light pink socks and Virginia is on the right with dark pink socks. They were having too much fun with my necklace and didn't want to look at Grandma taking the picture. And, with each weighing about 32 pounds I can only hold them both for so long.

I'm so glad I have both the blog and my Memory Manager to document who is who. Looking back at earlier pictures is already amazing--if I don't have it written down who is who, it's impossible to tell.

Here's Grandma McNutt and Goldie.

On Sunday, Virginia worked for the longest time on putting her snow pants and hat on. It was snowing, but we were not going outside. What is the fascination with taking clothes off and on? You'll notice she has no socks on. She had taken those off earlier, but didn't want me to put them back on. Then she layered on the snowpants and kept those on for a while. What a hoot!

Mothers have to work hard to remember to take photos WITH their kids, not just OF their kids! I want to make sure they remember what I look like when I'm gone.

They are such girls now! Long hair and everything. So fun to look back at them. I haven't seen them since you could hold them in your arms ... need to fix that!

I'm feeling the need for a spring shopping trip to the Mall of America and a side-trip to Rosebud's Cottage. Hmm? When can I make that happen?

You are right about the photos, Heidi. It's so easy to be the one taking the pictures and sometimes we have to remember to make sure we include ourselves! A shopping trip to Rosebud's Cottage is a good idea. Now that spring has arrived that might be a good day trip for me and my stitching friends!
