Rock Painting 101

When I pulled in the driveway of our daycare provider's one night, I loved what I saw. Maci, Henry, and Seth were hard at work in the garage. But what were they doing?

Rock painting!

Maci is quite creative.

What a great activity on a warm day!

Oh, Heidi, this brought back such memories. In the late 1970's my kids, along with several neighbor kids, would meet at our house for craft projects (our house was known for the glitter that was waxed into the linoleum). Rock painting was a favorite. There were rock fish and ladybugs and monsters painted on rocks. Fast foreward to 2005 and we were preparing to move. I emptied one of two large pots that were on each side of the garage door. There among the dirt was one of the ladybug rocks that my daughter had painted!!! Of course I saved it for her because even now she loves ladybugs. The kids also enjoyed toothbrush art but that got more messy. The kids look like they are having so much fun!!!
