Virginia "Shawn Johnson" Kaisand

I am a "Dancing with the Stars" fan. The grace, the beauty, the dresses--it's all beautiful. When I learned that Shawn Johnson--Iowa Golden Girl--would be on the show, I was extremely excited. For the first time, I've found myself waiting for Monday nights like never before. I even have voted two weeks for her! Go Shawn!! For those that don't follow Shawn, her gymnastics speciality is the balance beam. I can only marvel at what she does. Heck, I can only marvel at what all those dancers do. (Henry asked last night if Dad could dance like that. I told him I was sure he would try for me!)

But, do we have the next balance beam superstar from Iowa? Last night we took a sandwich to Jeff, as he was planting beans. We played while he filled the planter and went back to work.

There he goes, says Virignia left, and Goldie right.

Henry was running. He's always running. Future track star?

And, Virginia was sizing up the "balance beam."
(Or in this case the tongue of the hay rack hitched to the pick-up truck.)

I gave her a perfect score of 10. Great effort, good concentration, and determination.

Heidi, I am a HUGE DWTS fan! I live for Monday nights, then tivo the results on Tuesday, and watch American Idol on Tuesday, then the results from DWTS, and Wed, the results from American Idol. I LOVE the costumes, the fanfare, the music, all of it.
I give your daughter a perfect score, and I too am a fan of your Iowa Golden Girl...however, I believe the Melissa and Tony should win!

Cute pics of the kids. Virginia is very focused on her "routine". My kids loved walking along the railroad ties along our garden wall and played at gymnastics as kids.
I became hooked on DWTS when my husband started watching. I had warned him that when he retires, I want to take ballroom dancing lessons. He keeps working "just one more year". Is there a message there? LOL Even my mother is watching (from Lehigh) and rooting for Shawn. I would not want to pick a winner as they are all really good dancers. Ty is so funny and has worked so hard but I think he'll be the one to go tonight.
