Henry, the Police Officer

On Saturday, Henry spent most of the day with his dad, working on the farm. When he came home, the girls were napping, and I was sewing. He started getting is toys out to play when he asked "when are we going to get the thing out with words?" Not knowing at all what he was talking about, I said, get it out and let's see what it is. He was so proud of his drawing from preschool.
He laid down beside it and was telling me how they traced around their bodies. "See how I'm the same size."
I suggested he lay on top of the drawing so I could see just how he was the same size. It was at this point I also realized that he had quite the chocolate milk mustache on his face. A sure sign he's been with Dad and stopped at the Gingersnap for a snack.

So, will Henry head to kindergarten this fall with dreams of being a police officer? Or will his career path change 100+ x as he grows and changes and grows some more? I'm betting on the latter, how about you?

This "thing with words" is so cute (as is Henry). You're a smart mom to document this moment with photographs. All those treasured projects kids make throughout their school years have a way of taking over the house. You can't possibly save them all!

Cute post and pictures! I would have had so much fun if blogging had been around when my kids were little. One year we made a skeleton by tracing my son. Used those brass things to hold all the "bones" together and so all the arms and legs would move. I came across it in our move and it made us laugh to see it. It's now "vintage" as it's more than 25 years old.
