Celebrate with Me!
You're invited to join with me in celebrating my 2-year blogging anniversary. How you say? Well, make a comment on this post by 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, September 8, and you'll be in the drawing for one of 5 prizes! Yes 5. Each of five people will receive a hand-made (by me) wool sunflower mat, a charming beaded candle holder (three will be with the flowers, two with the criss-cross design), and a scented candle.

The Sunflower mat--perfect under a votive candle holder or as a coaster.

Writing my blog has been such a special experience. It's been a way to share my story with others. The responses I've received both publicly and behind the scenes have been heartwarming. New friendships have been formed, old friendships rekindled, family ties strengthened.
My photography has improved in the past two years and I find myself looking at the world a little different somedays because of my camera. It will continue to evolve, as life always does, so will my blog. What is your favorite part of the blog or what brings you back. Share if you like.
Watch for the winners to be announced on Wednesday, September 9, 2009!

I'm enjoying reading of your country life and your quilting. I especially loved the State Fair posts and would love to see it one year. I was a sewing 4-Her, and always entered things in our local county fair. I'll continue to read and enjoy your blog.

It is so much fun looking on your blog and seeing the wonderful happenings of your busy life and adorable children!! Even though we live miles apart and don't get to see each other as much as I would like, I somehow feel we stay connected through this awesome new technology. You and your family have been such wonderful friends (almost like family) for as long as I can remember, and I only hope that our friendship will continue for many more years to come!!

Congratulations! I was sad when you left the magazine and I was pleased to find your blog not long ago. Being a native Iowan now in the southeast, I really enjoy your topics and photos. Heidi,
What a delight to see how your family has grown. I also loved the sunflower, etc. After seeing it I plan to make one for my friend that loves them.
By the way I also have identical twin girls (who are now 41) and it has been a real adventure and delight. ( I also have a son and another daughter.)

Funny, you were the first speaker at my first meeting of Deep Valley Quilters in Mankato for, and you did a program recently as I am going from VP to President, I think it is only fitting when you started your blog that I find out what interesting things you are up to, not to mention enjoying farm life with your family. Thank you for being in inspiration. Dee

I always enjoyed your segments on the different craft/quilting shows I use to watch and miss seeing you on TV. However, I do get to read your blog and enjoy and wonder how you keep up with everything, especially with a young family. Hubby must be a big help!

Heidi,
I wanted to wish you (belated) congrats on your 2 year blog anniversary! It has been a crazy summer and I have not caught up with you as often as would like.
I really like to read about your life on the farm, and it is neat that you are from Iowa and let out of staters know how great a state it is.
Enjoyed your posts on the fair! Looks like we may have been there on some of the same days.
Your quilts and creations are beautiful and are inspiring to see.
Best of luck on the upcoming third year of blogging!
