Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun
It's not uncommon to hear the kids and I singing, "Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, mister golden sun, please shine down on me. Oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, mister golden sun, hiding behind the trees. These little children are asking you, to please come out so they can play with you....oh, Mr. Sun, Sun, mister golden sun, please shine down on me." I sunny day is a happy day.
Last week when I was in Maine at Mariner's Compass Quilt Shop, this golden sun caught my eye. It's a fabric-collage portrait created by Susan Carlson. Susan, a Maine resident, teaches a fabric-collage class at Mariner's Compass. Wouldn't this be a great class to take?

That's amazing. I always marvel at the talent that people have to take bits of fabric and place them just so and then the scene comes alive! What a great Mr. Sun!
