The Final Tally is in and I'm PUMPED!
Yesterday I started an on-line class on jessicasprague.com called Type + Writer. Day 1 is a writing assignment, Day 2 is a layout assignment. Repeat 6 times! Well, I am pumped after Day 2. I do enjoy writing and part of this class involves "free writing"....15 minutes a day about anything. Lovely! But the assignment specifically wanted us to write about an adventure. Since we'd just hung up the barn quilt, it was fresh in my memory. I wrote four pages of details and thoughts about the barn raising. My pen could hardly keep up with my mind.
Today, when I saw the layout provided by Jessica Sprague, I was so inspired. Here is her example. She works in Photo Shop, but since I don't have that program I created my own version of her template from scratch in Creative Memories Story Book Creator Plus.

In just 45 minutes this evening, I pulled paper and embellishments from my digital stash and started putting my layout together. I was pumped. It was just an awesome creative push for me today. I felt like I knew many parts of CM Story book really well, and other things I want time to explore. But, I had the "must get this done" attitude, so didn't perfect everything. As I was saving it to a jpg I was thinking...oh, I should have made the numbers a brown color, not black...and my rickrack could have extended a little farther. But, I didn't hit the cancel button. For me this was an exercise in being creative NOW! Tell me what you think about my layout. What's your favorite part and what would you change?

heidi, I have SEEN jessica's layout somewhere before!? Is she by chance a designer for Creative Memories new catalog or idea book? Huh...interesting. My favorite part is 45 minutes and it was DONE. WAY to go my good and faithful friend. Your family is incredibly blessed to have YOU tracking all those memories. You are a terrific customer and friend!

I don't know how you find time to do all the beautiful things you do! Your barn raising page is awesome. I don't do paper crafts but I love how they look!

Heidi, you did a great job. I loved everything about it. I really liked what you did with the circles. Give your self a pat on the back. I'm wanting to get into this now, more than ever.
