This IS Fall!

Although I've been knocking on wood everytime I saw "we haven't gotten the flu yet." It didn't work! But, at least, it's only been me. All I can say today is I'm back and feeling good. The weather today is a perfect ending to the week. I've got windows open to air out the germs and to hear the sounds of harvest. The entire household was up and at it at 5:30 a.m. When there's work to be done there's no sense wasting time. With the pancakes eaten, the dishwasher loaded, and the washing machine spinning, the girls and I headed to the grocery store to restock the bare refrigerator. The boys were headed to the farm.
We packed a picnic lunch to take to the farmers and included freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies.
My kitchen helpers Virginia, left, and Goldie.

The girls put on their Miss Kitty boots to head to the farm. Here, Virginia examines a large mass of what might be mud, but doesn't look quite like mud. Hmm, what is it?

We throw the blanket out on the ground for a little lunch.

An after lunch toe refresher.

Awaiting the next farm adventure.

Heidi, so glad the weather is cooperating for your harvest.
I love your blog. The pics of your darling children and occasionally your hubby.
I also appreciate your help over the phone when I bought my Millie and was setting it up. You are all a working mother should be. Your family is just beautiful. Can't wait to see your home decorated for Christmas and the looks on the faces of the kids.
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you all!

Sorry to hear the flu bug visited! Weather was gorgeous here in MN today with lots of farmers in the fields......and lots of deer hunters, too! The "cookie baking" pic of the girls is really cute.

Your children are adorable and so fortunate to be able to grow up on a farm. Now back to browsing your blog!
