Triple Slam Weekend
So much to do, not enough time to do it all. Why not make three quilts at once? I'm thinking I should have started doing this sooner. My driving force this weekend was a quilt that will be donated to the AASV (pig doctor annual convention for those not up on this group) annual auction in March...with a deadline of December 5. Yeah...that's just around the corner. I flew through my favorite quilt shop in Ames, Iowa, on Friday and took advantage of their 15% off sale. Star employee Janelle found me the PERFECT animal fabric for the quilt. This is where I started on Saturday...cutting strips.

The blocks are now sewn and as I played with the layout, a new idea came to me...so I'm loving how it's going to finish. More photos to come. So, back to the why three-in-one weekend. As I pondered the pig quilt on Friday night I started doodling designs and I created one that I wanted to make for my photographer friend Perry. He's a pheasant hunting nut and he always loves a good quilt. Many years of photographing quilters has made him appreciate the work that goes into one. The fabrics I pulled for his project look like this.

My needle-felted Gerber daisies have been dancing in my head like sugar plums, so I couldn't not work on this project.

Saturday was cutting day...

Or, if you asked Goldie, left, and Virginia, right, it was "Would you like spaghetti day?"

Then the party was over and we all went to bed.

Sunday was piecing day...Monday evening was piecing and lay-out thought process night!! What will Tuesday bring?

Heidi I don't comment too much but that fabric with the pheasants looks pretty cool!!! Also did you happen to get a picture of Al, Kyle, Scott, Myself, Jeff and Henry getting the pontoon out of the pond? The truck pulling the pontoon and the tractor pulling the truck out of the waters edge? Pretty funny
