It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman!

We're donning our capes and we're playing super quilters in Paducah. By day we work hard selling APQS  long-arm quilting machines. And, sneak in looking at the quilts and buying fabric we can't possibly live without. By night we sleep hard in the town of Metropolis, Illinois--home of Superman.

Did you he had a big brother --Big John? He is a sack boy at the local grocery store.

Here's a personal favorite so far...wool and hand embroidery. This project was made by Mary Chalmers of Willmar, Minnesota. She got the pattern for this traditional Square-in-a-Square design from Quilt magazine. She used wool or wool blends for all the blocks and designed her own original embroidered border. Awesome quilt!

This quilt is gorgeous! I recognized it right away as I saw it at the Minnesota State Fair last summer. Your pictures are better than mine! The quilt is just exquisite!

THANK YOU so much for providing these photos! This is truly "my kind of quilt," as it features what I refer to as an ALMOST-CRAZY/NON-CRAZY quilt with wonderfully appropriate stitchery designs in all the right places. (For my part, the Economy Block is a natural for this treatment, and one made of wools is even better.) +++ My dear friend, Miss Lisa Caryl of Colo, IA, has made several blocks in this pattern except she used "fancy"/formal-wear fabrics and silk ribbon embellishments, maybe even beads -- a stunning sight to see! LORDwilling, I will visit your blog many times this year and beyond. Be well. . .
