MQS 2010 Best of Show is Stunning
Linda French of Centerville, Ohio, took Best of Show at the 2010 MQS quilt show with her quilt Circles of Life. She writes "I was inspired by a photo of an old window. It took three years to design and stitch. It's hand appliqued, machine pieced, and long arm quilted." She used a design as you go methodology starting with outline and gradually filling in the blank areas with quilting.

The colors and design are stunning.

Do you ever wonder who might be the next Best of Show winner? Well MQS teacher Myrna Ficken gave her vote to eight-year-old Cooper and his first exhibit, Jungle Lion. Cooper drew this lion in art class and wanted to make a quilt out of it. Check out his interview. I think Cooper has a great quilting future in front of him.
