Summer has officially begun!
The last two months have been filled with quilt shows and traveling. The next two months are going to be filled with walks at the state park, fishing in the pond, and enjoying life. Throw in a few talks to quilt guilds (including this week in Clear Lake, Iowa) and our summer will be complete.
The pond behind our house is always a source of entertainment and amazement. Since late April we've been watching this family of geese. There were seven babies at the start, but only four have survived. The family comes ashore each morning and evening until the sounds of our household scare them back to the water.

Put fashion aside and just have fun! I couldn't resist the adorable tutus at Target for the girls. Although it's probably not your first thought of what to wear to the park, I can quickly offer you many benefits--cool, loose fitting, flowing. Goldie didn't seem to have any trouble running in them.

Since my camera is on my shoulder most of the time, the kids are used to me taking pictures. Henry actually asked me recently to take his picture. No problem in helping him with that one. But the girls are at the "No Mom" stage. Here, Virginia was just being goofy for the camera while Henry gave me his signature "melt your heart" smile. I loved every minute of it.

Goldie is my kitty girl. Carry him. Pet him. Hug him. Wrap him in a quilt. (Note yellow tail sticking out from under quilt.) Sam kindly plays along.

As a dear friend noted...our children are happy. So am I.
