Proud to be One!

Proud to be an ISU Cyclone that is!

The kids are at a great age for going to the games, so we took them to the opening game on Thursday night. It had been raining all day, but it cleared off just in time for the pre-game activities. The hot temps and humid air was replaced with a cool, brisk, prefect evening for ISU football.

The backpack was filled with coats and sweatshirts and the essentials. I fully planned on carrying it but Goldie insisted she carry it. Our pace from the parking area to the stadium was a slow one. With loud music playing, tailgating to watch, painted faces, funny Cyclone striped clothes, buses driving by with boys hanging out the windows--there was SO MUCH to take in.

That slow walk came to a screeching halt when we walked head on into the ISU marching band coming around the stadium. We had to stop and watch them for a few minutes.

Tailgating at any college football is good...but bbqed ribs by Corky is awesome! (If you do any grilling you MUST get his seasoning. It's the best.)

Corky working hard.

Although we watched the game, there was so many other things to entertain us. It was getting late and we decided to head out at the beginning of the 4th quarter, only to have tears of not wanting to leave! We assured them, we'd be back.

Congratulations to the week one winners of my 3rd blog anniversary drawing.
The three winners are:

Jane B.
Miss Nancy
Amy Mesenbrink

What a trooper Goldie is to carry that big backpack! She looks like she is soooo excited. My first apartment was across the street from the old ISU football field and I remember the excitement of game day. Gorgeous photos of the football stadium (the clouds in the one picture almost look like a mountain range)and a really great picture of the band!
