Wanna share a snake anyone?

When the weather is as beautiful as it was today, there are no options at our house--you're outside playing. The days of cold, bitter winds will be here way too soon. I looked out the window as I was cooking supper to see this.

Camera in hand...maybe the Christmas card picture was near. Hmm...what do you think? Does playing with a snake go well with holiday wishes? But, oh, the fun they had. The girls loved trying to pick it up. Henry--not so much! But, this is why it's a must to send them outside.

Isn't this the way it is? When you're #2 (and 3) you try harder! But this is why we live in the country. Great Pic!

Makes me wish I still lived on a farm! I can remember doing much the same with my brothers, they wouldn't touch the snakes either. Way to go girls!

Heidi, we have sooo many family jokes about my mother and snakes. She was even scared of a big red plush snake she gave me! Funny! Love your pics and blog!

Heidi--Looks like #2 could be more of a grimace than a smile? Good for the girls! that they would touch, play, and look at the snake, even if it's a little one. Snakes are a good thing (except Biblical ones!). I love seeing them in the garden and the yard. It's just as it should be! They always make me smile.
Now if it were a big bull snake or something else, maybe not...but there are just garter snakes here...that I know of!!

I meant to ask before-Just how did those kids get up on that hay bale? My brothers and I never did that, back in the olden days when we were young we only had the little regtangular bales.
