Great Friends and Great Ideas

At home in my sewing room are shelves of books, fabric, and patterns. It's what happens after quilting for 30 years and loving textures and color. So when I walk the isles of Quilt Market (and Quilt Festival starting tonight), you might wonder if I see anything I need or haven't seen before. Absolutely! I should clarify that there is nothing I need, but lots I desire. How can you not be inspired or moved by the creativity of others? It's amazing what people do. As a vendor I can get on the show floor early and walk in the quiet of the morning before the hustle and bustle of shoppers. It's so peaceful and I can take my time. Sometimes the vendor is in their booth and we get to chat a little about where they are from, etc. One particular morning I found The Cottage at Cardiff Farms booth. Her Penny Purse bag (hanging on the right side of this picture) caught my eye! It was a must for using some of my wool stash. I can't wait to make it.

While walking the isles, I always enjoy seeing friends. Below are
Roseann , myself, Elizabeth , and Pam . We had a few good hugs and laughs...then on to the next isle we go.

Today I'm the "tech" assistant in a long-arming class. Isn't technology wonderful that I'm sitting in the back of the classroom, with my Blackberry tethered to my computer...Festival opens tonight at 5 p.m. Can't wait to walk the isles for more great ideas and to see more friends.

I've been cleaning/rearranging in my sewing room and asked myself outloud....do I really need to buy anymore fabric? And yes, like you, I've collected for many years but there is always some new design out there that I "desire". While shopping with friends in Mankato last weekend, I found several things I "desired" and added to the "collection". LOL!
