Something New to Read

In the past few years I've hosted some retreats because I enjoy making people feel special. Our lives are so busy that sometimes we forget to treat ourselves. So during the few days people were with me, I tried to give them all the extra attention they needed so all they had to do was think about their quilting. Because of my own busy schedule, I'm don't currently have any retreats planned for 2011. But I'm always looking for how other retreats are hosted. What makes them special? What could I learn from their retreat and share with others? What is the perfect location for a retreat?

Bepresentretreats.com  has been moved to the top of my list of retreats. Wow! The location. The teachers. The atmosphere. The sharing. The learning. The friends. The video promotion alone is 3 minutes of loveliness! I couldn't resist purchasing Liz's new book, Inner Excavation .

The book arrived two days ago, wrapped in a burlap bag and wrapped with twine. So enticing. (I wanted so badly to take a picture of this, but my camera is in the shop getting fixed. Do you know what it's like being without my camera? Horrible.) So, you'll have to just imagine it. This week has been so busy with work and meetings that I am waiting for this weekend to sit in a warm, toasty spot and let the book consume me. Or I'll consume the book!

Oh, no, life without a camera!! Not fun. My friends know that I always have my camera ready and I would be almost lost without it! Making plans and looking forward to some spring fun in April. The best thing about a retreat is the "escape" that it gives one. Sometimes, just a day or two away can give us renewed energy for our daily lives.

Heidi, the books sounds like a perfect fit for me and I just ordered it from Liz. The retreats sound like a great adventure and learning and with relaxation. I now have 3 good cameras and always have one with me at all times. I just my daughters ES Rebel 300D and I bought the Speedlite 430EX to go with it. I'm excited to start using it. I need some tips from the pro.
